“Why Do We Not Give Our Ears and Go to Christ 為何我們不要側耳而聽，不要到基督那裡去？“（Isaiah 以賽亞書 55:3-5）
Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David. See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples. Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendour.
你們要側耳而聽，要到我這裡來；你們要聽，就可以存活；我必與你們立永遠的約，就是應許賜給大衛的那確實的慈愛。看哪！我已經立了他作萬族的見證人，為萬族的首領和司令。看哪！你要召聚你不認識的國；那些素來不認識你的國也必奔向你，都因耶和華你的神、以色列的聖者的緣故，因為他已經榮耀了你。
Often, those who do not benefit from God’s word simply neither incline their ear to Him. When we do it, we have not only life for our soul but also God’s everlasting covenant with us full of His faithful love shown to David. David had a real relationship and experience with God, led Israel spiritually, politically and militarily by both his godly example and shepherd’s heart, and could speak to them as a witness of what he had seen and heard in that relationship with God. His heart after God meant more than outward success, comfort and ease. It also shows that God’s best and most effective leaders do not necessarily have it easy. As God’s people rule with Christ over the millennial earth, people will be entrusted with geographical regions according to their faithfulness. These prophecies are fulfilled spiritually when God gives wonderful, David-like leadership to them.
那些不從神的道得益的人，往往只不過沒有向祂側耳而聽。當我們側耳而聽，我們得著的不單只是自己靈魂的復生，而且是神與我們的永約，滿有祂表明給大衛確實的慈愛。大衛與神有著真實的關係和經歷體驗，以他敬虔的榜樣和牧人的心，在屬靈上、政治上和軍事上帶領以色列人，並作為在那與神的關係上所見所聞的見証人，可以向他們發話。他合神心意意味著境況比外顯的成功、安舒和輕鬆容易有更多的難處；它也表明神最好和最有效益的領袖，不是必然地得之容易。當神的子民與基督統治千禧年裡的地上時，子民按著他們的忠誠受託給予疆土地域。而當神給他們奇妙、像大衛般的領導力時，這些預言在屬靈上就得以應驗。
Prayer: Sovereign God, David did not lead through popularity polls like what happens now in the end of the age, or just giving the people what they wanted. In fact, he witnessed to his people and us today something from you that can never be gained from this fallen world. Thank you that you never gave up on David, never stopped showing him mercy. We can count on you when you do promise to us your faithful love shown to David. Amen.
