“Rationalism: A Danger in Today’s Christianity 理性主義：今曰基督教的危機“（John 約翰福音 7:18-19）
Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him. Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?
那憑著自己的意思說的，是求自己的榮譽；但那尋求差他來者的榮耀的，才是真誠的人，在他裡面沒有不義。摩西不是曾經把律法傳給你們嗎？你們竟然沒有一個人遵行律法。你們為甚麼想要殺我呢？
There is today an evangelical rationalism which holds the view that if we learn the Biblical text, we have got the truth which is all we need! This is the same doctrine held by Jewish religion in Jesus’ day. It will kill the truth as quickly as liberalism will, though in a more subtle way. The evangelical rationalist insists that believing the body of truth, we are on our way to heaven being unable to backslide and will get a crown in the last day! The Bible is a living book, a revelation from God. But there must be illumination before revelation can get to our soul. It is not enough that we hold an inspired book in our hands — we must have an inspired heart. Truth has a soul as well as a body!
今天，出現一種福音派理性主義的看法：如果我們學會聖經文本，就已經獲得我們一切所需要的真理！這是與耶穌時代的猶太教所持的教義相同。這主義必扼殺真理，就像自由主義那樣迅速，只是方式更微妙而已。福音派理性主義者堅持，要相信真理的體系，我們就踏上通往天堂的道路，不再倒退墮落，在末日必得著冠冕！聖經是一本活著的書，是從神而來的啟示。但在啟示能達到我們的心靈之前，必須先被光照。我們手中持有一本默示的書還不足夠，我們必須有一顆受靈感的心。真理不僅具有體系，而且還有靈魂！
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for reminding us of two measures of a true teacher of the Bible, i.e. whether the teaching comes from God and the work gives glory to Him or not. You are absolutely sinless and true, always seeking the glory of Father God in heaven. May we open our heart to the illumination of the Holy Spirit and be enthusiastic in searching the Bible guarding ourselves against not keeping your word. Amen.
禱告：親愛的主耶穌啊！感謝你提醒我們，一個真正聖經老師的兩個準則，就是那教導是否從神而來，並且那工作是否把榮耀歸給祂。你是絶對無罪和真確的，常常尋求在天上的父神得榮耀。願我們對著聖靈的光照敞開自己的内心，熱心查考聖經，守護自己免得不遵行你的道。阿們。
