“Tragedy: Men Do Not Know That God Is Here 人不知道神在這裡的悲劇“（Genesis 創世記 28:16-17）
When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, ‘Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.’ He was afraid and said, ‘How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.’
雅各一覺醒來，說：“耶和華確實在這地方，我竟不知道！”他就懼怕起來，說：“這地方多麼可畏啊，這不是別的地方，而是神的殿，是天的門。”
Like the patriarch Jacob’s trouble, it is also ours that men do not know God’s presence. The Presence and the manifestation of the Presence are not the same. There can be the one without the other. God is here when we are wholly unaware of it. He is manifest only when and as we are aware of His Presence. On our part there must be surrender to the Holy Spirit, for His work is to show us the Father and the Son. What a difference it would make if we knew! If we cooperate with Him in loving obedience, God will manifest Himself to us, and that manifestation will be the difference between a nominal Christian life and a life radiant with the light of His face. God’s will is that all He has ever done for any of His children He will do for all of His Children. The difference lies not with God but with us!
正如先祖雅各的毛病一樣，這也是我們的，就是人都不知道神在這裡。神的同在與祂彰顯祂的同在是兩回事，只能兩者有其一。即使我們完全不察覺神的同在，祂仍在這裡。只有正當我們察覺祂的同在，祂才向我們彰顯祂自己。我們必須對聖靈降服，因為祂的工作是向我們顯明聖父與聖子。如果我們知道，情況必會截然不同！我們若在鍾愛的順服聽從裡與祂合作，神必會向我們顯明祂自己，而那樣的彰顯正是掛名基督徒的生命，與那散發祂面容上榮光的生命之間的分別。神的旨意是祂曾為任何一個自己兒女所作的，也同樣作在所有兒女身上。差別不在於神，而在於我們！
Prayer: Heavenly Father, instead of clinging to any unrealistic expectation of your special affirmative sign like strange dream, etc., help us to raise our full awareness of your presence and marvelous act by the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit through our daily reading of your words and praying to you. Amen.
