“God Tells Us in the Bible What He Is Like 神在聖經裡告訴我們祂像甚麽“（Acts 使徒行傳 2:1-4）
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
五旬節到了，他們都聚集在一起。忽然有一陣好像強風吹過的響聲，從天而來，充滿了他們坐在裡面的整間屋子。又有火焰般的舌頭顯現出來，分別落在他們各人身上。他們都「被聖靈充滿，就照著聖靈所賜給他們的，用別種的語言說出話來。
Through the operation of the Holy Spirit, human soul could know incomprehensible God as He is in Himself. Judging from the Scriptures one would gather that His favourite similitude is fire. The God who had appeared to His people as fire throughout all their long history was now dwelling in them as fire. He had moved from the exterior to the interior of their lives. The settling of divine presence that had once blazed over the mercy seat now blazed on their foreheads as an external emblem of the fire that had invaded their natures.
透過聖靈的運行，人的心靈得以在那不能測度的神裡面認識神自己。而人從聖經裡綜合判斷，發現祂最喜愛引用的類比是火。在神子民過去漫長的歷史中，神曾經以火的模樣向他們彰顯，這回乃如火一般住在他們心裡；祂已經從外進入他們的生命中。曾在施恩座上燃亮、神臨在的榮光，現於他們的額上燃亮，作為已進入他們本性裡之火的外表象徵。
Prayer: Abba Father, thank you that we can know you through your word and the Holy Spirit. We recognize our emptiness lacking the resources in ourselves to do what we could do or should do for the sake of Christ. Your gift of the Holy Spirit is often given so as to deal with human flesh leading to a dying to self. We only earn it by our seeking. Help us to follow the disciples’ example gathering together for prayer, waiting in obedience to be filled and relying totally on your work. Amen.
禱告：亞爸父啊，感謝你我們能透過你的道和聖靈去認識你。我們承認自己的空洞，在裡面缺乏資源為基督的緣故，去作所能作或所應作的。你聖靈的禮物往往是賜給人，好作對付肉身的慾望，以致自我的死去，我們只有藉著尋求而得著它。求你幫助我們效法門徒們的榜樣，走在一起祈禱，在聽從裡等待被聖靈充滿，並完完全全依靠你所作的工。阿們。
